That Sound You Hear When You Launch Your Product And Nobody Buys... Again!
Crickets. Zip. Nada. Zero. Zilch… or as we like to say here in Yorkshire… Nowt (like “out” but with an “n” on the front)! It’s happened to me more times than I care to remember. I poured my heart and soul into building an awesome funnel with a kick-ass offer (at least it was in my opinion), yet nobody bought.
Was it the price? Was it the headline? Maybe it was just me - who knows 🤷♀️. All I knew back then was that there were ZERO funds going into my bank account. After all, that’s the important bit, right?
Well, not quite.
You see, just because there’s a zero on the purchase end of your funnel, that doesn’t mean there’s zeros across the board - and it’s these non-zeros that provide valuable insights into what’s actually working and where your process is breaking down.
If you don’t even LOOK at these other numbers, you’ll start imagining all kinds of crazy doubts about yourself and your ability to make a business work (yep, I’ve been there, done that, too!).
Let’s say, for example, you’re selling a training course. You’ve been telling your email list and your social media followers about your new product for the past week or so, and the funnel has been live for a couple of days.
Your only goal was to make one sale on the first day. That didn’t happen… so what do you do? Do you wallow in your perceived failure, or do you put on your detective hat and figure it out?
That’s right, we go full-on Jessica Fletcher, baby!
Here are just a few questions we can ask to start figuring out where things might have gone wrong:
How many people saw the main sales page?
Where did they come from?
What action did they take?
How much of the page did they see?
Did they watch the video?
Did they try to click on anything?
With just these three simple questions, we can start to establish a picture of how people are moving through our business. It could be something as simple as a broken button (that happened to me just the other day - oops!).
The point I’m trying to make here is that the data is one of the most powerful doubt-destroyers you have in your business arsenal. If you’re not even looking at it, it’d be like having a mobile phone in your pocket in an emergency and not using it.
When we have even the faintest whiff of doubt in ourselves or our abilities, it creates hesitation. Hesitation results in no action. This means that we don’t do the things that will move our business forward; we put them off, procrastinate, or let busyness take over. This results in feelings of overwhelm, inadequacy, and burnout.
If you’re tired of feeling like that in your business, I’d like to invite you to check out my new book “Stop Doing It All” at https://stopdoingitallbook.com. We’ll dive deep into the doubt-destroyers you can layer up in your business to drive incredible growth and achievement. Grab your copy today - you’ll be glad you did!
