We all experience doubt. It’s a critical safety mechanism that’s part of our DNA. Still, when you find yourself stuck in your business, questioning every decision you make, and struggling to take the action you need because you feel weighed down by doubt and fear, that’s not safety - it’s damaging. This is where your internal characters—Wreck-It Rose and Kick-Ass Katie—come into play.

Wreck-It Rose

Wreck-It Rose is like the little devil sitting on your shoulder. She embodies your self-doubt and fears, and uses them as weapons against your success. I call these “Weapons Of Mass Inaction (WOMI)”. She's the voice whispering that you’re not good enough or that your idea isn’t worth pursuing. She weilds the Weapons of Mass Inaction (WOMI) to stifle your productivity. Some of her favorites are: fear of failure, fear of the unknown, and fear of financial loss. These fears, while common, can paralyze you and prevent you from taking positive steps toward your goals. The key to overcoming Wreck-It Rose is not to ignore her, but to acknowledge and understand her role in your life.

Kick-Ass Katie

Kick-Ass Katie, on the other hand, is like the little angel sitting on your shoulder. She represents positivity, encouragement, and resilience. She reminds you that your fears are normal and that they don't have to dictate your actions. By cultivating a relationship with Katie, you learn to challenge Wreck-It Rose’s grip on your mind. You start to differentiate between fear-driven inaction and proactive steps that lead to success.

Identifying your WOMIs is the first stride toward transformation. Take the time to sit down and reflect on what you’re truly afraid of. Is it the fear of failing in front of others? Perhaps the thought of stepping into the unknown leaves you paralyzed. Maybe you worry about investing in yourself financially and yet not reaping the rewards. Whatever it may be, write it down. To help, you can find ten of these Weapons Of Mass Inaction in Chapter 15 of my bestselling book “Stop Doing It All”. Once it's on paper, it loses some of its power.

Now comes the empowering part. For each fear you’ve written down, think of strategies to address it (again, for more help, check out Chapter 15). When the fear of failure creeps in, reframe it by focusing on learning rather than losing. Every setback is a lesson, a stepping stone on the path to success. Embracing the idea that fear is a natural component of growth is a game-changer. Look at it as a sign that you’re stretching your comfort zone rather than a barrier that confines you.

The next step is to build resilience. Kick-Ass Katie thrives on informed decision-making. Create a plan that outlines actionable steps you can take to move forward, even in the face of fear. These could include setting small, achievable goals, seeking mentorship, or simply celebrating your progress, no matter how minor it may seem.

Remember, embracing your fears is not about ignoring them but about finding a way to navigate through them. Acknowledge Wreck-It Rose, but don’t let her be the one running your business. Listen to Kick-Ass Katie and let her lead you on a path of growth and resilience.

In this dance between doubt and confidence, know that you have the power to choose which voice to amplify. As you tackle your challenges head-on, you’ll not only overcome self-doubt but also strengthen your resolve to succeed. Keep moving forward; your business dreams are worth the effort.
